First edit of an 'overlay' longform improvisation idea I've been working on for a while.

The process is that I record 3-4 improvisations of a similar length - in this case 33 minutes - and then start editing these 'unheard' improvisations into something that sounds cohesive. In this instance, there's two clean banjo takes and one popped into a 'freeze' effect (the clean droney sounds).

This particular track isn't quite there but the overlay improvisation is something I want to keep playing around with, as much for myself as for any future release ideas.

I've since made 16 minute, 11 minute, 7 minute and 4 1/2 minute edits of this particular piece.
